My Coaching Philosophy
I coach because I have an innate passion for sports and find fulfillment in assisting others succeed, to reach their full potential and to achieve their own person goals using the tools I put in place for their training journey. A personalized approach is paramount to the success of the athlete. A full understanding of a clients needs, desires and ambitions is fully explored by weighing up personal strengths and areas of development, abilities and potential. This information is then integrated into a bespoke periodised training plan with continual assessment. The training plan will also ensure that the work-life balance is addressed and monitored. As a coach I try to keep it fun, empowering the athlete with progressive and realistic attainable goals.
I coach for the individual, so there are times where I will be tailoring the methods I use to enable me to coach each client more effectively, there is no “one size fits all” training plan. Experience has shown me that by establishing a personal relationship with the client and ensuring communication lines are fluid at all times results in the most effective training and in turn greater success for the client. Establishing a relationship and gaining a full appreciation for how the athlete “ticks” is a key tool in my coaching strategy.
I believe my coaching style will be received by the greater percentage of people, however I appreciate that not every coaching relationship will work. There may be an occasion where there is no symmetry between the client and my coaching philosophy and either the client or Imay deem the relationship incompatible and therefore the training of the client will have no real success - I would deal with this situation in an honest manner with a face to face consultation addressing any imbalances in a potential working relationship.
My coaching style is continually fuelled by my own personal growth. Personal development is very important to me. I have a strong desire to constantly seek out new people, ideas, courses and research, building on my knowledge base, which in turn broadens the way in which I can successfully coach a client. Using newly acquired skills I am able to offer a more extensive range of coaching to my clients and in turn builds on my existing client base.
