-       Pilates Instructor & (pre-and postnatal)

-       RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor

-       RYA Safety Boat Driver

I regularly coach individuals and corporate groups in running, track cycling, road & time trial, swimming and triathlon.

Event consultancy I have worked on many high-profile events include Elite Championship Cycling Revolution Series, Pearl Izumi Cycling Tour Series, Sir Bradley Wiggins Hour Record, IShares Cup Extreme 40 sailing series.

My specialist area is strength and conditioning training for all sports. I believe in a holistic approach to training to ensure strong foundations are in place to allow each individual to achieve their goal. This in turn is a key factor in injury prevention and recovery.

My personal achievements include being a member of the GBR Age group triathlon team (for which I was appointed captain) competing in both middle and long courses of the European and World Championships.  I apply the experience of being an athlete to my role as a coach, allowing me to develop bespoke training sessions that are targeted to your needs, correct imbalances, and enable you to achieve your ambitions.

I have also worked on a number of films working with both the cast & stunt team. To name just a few.

Jupiter Ascending, The Scorpion King, Van Helsing, Midhunters.

I run a number of corporate events and training camps in the French Alps, South Africa and the Middle East.

My Coaching Philosophy

I coach because I have an innate passion for sports and find fulfillment in assisting others succeed, to reach their full potential and to achieve their own person goals using the tools I put in place for their training journey. A personalized approach is paramount to the success of the athlete. A full understanding of a clients needs, desires and ambitions is fully explored by weighing up personal strengths and areas of development, abilities and potential. This information is then integrated into a bespoke periodised training plan with continual assessment. The training plan will also ensure that the work-life balance is addressed and monitored. As a coach I try to keep it fun, empowering the athlete with progressive and realistic attainable goals.

I coach for the individual, so there are times where I will be tailoring the methods I use to enable me to coach each client more effectively, there is no “one size fits all” training plan. Experience has shown me that by establishing a personal relationship with the client and ensuring communication lines are fluid at all times results in the most effective training and in turn greater success for the client. Establishing a relationship and gaining a full appreciation for how the athlete “ticks” is a key tool in my coaching strategy.

I believe my coaching style will be received by the greater percentage of people, however I appreciate that not every coaching relationship will work. There may be an occasion where there is no symmetry between the client and my coaching philosophy and either the client or Imay deem the relationship incompatible and therefore the training of the client will have no real success - I would deal with this situation in an honest manner with a face to face consultation addressing any imbalances in a potential working relationship.

My coaching style is continually fuelled by my own personal growth. Personal development is very important to me. I have a strong desire to constantly seek out new people, ideas, courses and research, building on my knowledge base, which in turn broadens the way in which I can successfully coach a client. Using newly acquired skills I am able to offer a more extensive range of coaching to my clients and in turn builds on my existing client base.

Fitness Testing & monitoring

At KempFitness we have ability to assess and monitor the following:

  • FTP (Functional Threshold Power) Carried out on your own bike in your own home or a location in Tring. The test is an effective method of predicting your Functional Threshold Power (FTP)- another common piece of terminology within the cycling world! Your FTP is defined as the wattage you can sustain over a one-hour effort.
  • Body Fat Percentage
  • Speed
  • Flexibility
  • Strength
  • Balance
  • Co-ordination
  • Movement using video feedback

My knowledge includes how to rehabilitate people with:

  • Orthopedic diseases such as arthritis and osteoporosis;
  • Cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and coronary heart disease (CHD);
  • Metabolic diseases such as diabetes;
  • Pulmonary diseases such as asthma;
  • Exercise routines for raised cholesterol and obesity, and many other common conditions.

I am a strong believer in adapting the way we live to include daily exercise
